Nine rooms of the museum were filled with furniture, objects, canvases and photographs by more than 50 authors.

On 8 September, a large-scale exhibition entitled ‘Habitat’ opened at the MMOMA on Petrovka. As part of SAMPLE's three-year collaboration with the MMOMA, the gallery displayed collectible design items, furniture, decor and works of art.

The title of the exhibition, ‘Habitat,’ raises questions about where we exist. After all, it is impossible to deny the influence of the objects that surround us. The overall narrative of the exhibition was constructed through short thematic essays written from the perspective of a possible inhabitant of each room, with texts by Shahri Amirkhanova. An important question of the project is where the line between design and art lies. Is a screen made by an artist an object of design, and is a lightbox with an original print a work of art?
